Eric Prydz is back in a very familiar spot: The #1 spot on the Beatport Top 100. With almost every single Prydz/Pryda release charting all the way to the top, it’s no surprise to find ‘Tether‘ at such lofty heights. Following up the equally impressive Pryda 028 EP that also climbed to the #1 spot, there seems to be no stopping the Pryda onslaught of quality progressive house.
When Eric Prydz adapts an existing track it’s never something to be taken lightly, it’s a rare occurrence and something special. It’s no coincidence that two of his past efforts — ‘Proper Education’ & ‘Midnight City’ — were nominated for Grammys, and few can forget his epic take on Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”.
‘Tether’ is an interesting step with regards to collaboration for Eric, and only goes to show listeners the mass overlap appeal of his production. It’s ascension to the Beatport throne only solidifies Eric’s collaboration directive for 2015.

Hardkiss To Perform Anniversary Celebration in SF at Public Works on Saturday May 30
Back in 90’s San Francisco; Scott, Gavin and Robbie Hardkiss helped pioneer the American EDM/Rave scene with their club nights, warehouse parties and groundbreaking record label. They forged a new direction for dance music with a string of vinyl releases culminating in the seminal compilation, Delusions Of Grandeur.
Delusions Of Grandeur made the Billboard Dance charts, went to #1 on the Rolling Stone Alternative Album chart and launched the international DJ/production careers of the Hardkiss brothers. This hard-to-find compilation will now celebrate its 20th Anniversary with an official release date of May 11th, 2015. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for fans to get their hands on all of the Hardkiss classics.
Watch Delusions emerge from the ashes (here):
Hardkiss are an original DJ band. For many of their fans, Delusions of Grandeur was the first time they encountered electronic dance music. The Rave scene was raging and Hardkiss DJs, Gavin, Robbie & Scott were hitting multiple cities every weekend, introducing a new generation to their psychedelic funk techno sound collages. It was unclassified music. Before there were genres, there was Hardkiss.
Acclaimed British music journalist Kris Needs declared that “Hardkiss’ music defies musical barriers, time and space with off-the-teabags loved-out majesty and manages to suspend the listener in a bottomless pool of fragrant intoxicants and rabbit aphrodisiac heart rhythms.” Additionally, throughPledgeMusic, Hardkiss are offering all of the B-sides which were only featured on the original vinyl from ’90-‘99, plus their favorite remixes from that era (many of which have never been released before) including Scott Hardkiss’ fabled remix of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” and other bootlegs including Gavin Hardkiss’ edit of The Beatles’ “My Sweet Lord”. More than 50 songs are featured including the track (circa 1991) “Champagne Beat Boogie” which was featured in the movie “Groove”. There are also remixes of Mazzy Star, The Lords of Acid and The Sandals.
A year after the heartbreaking loss of “brother” Scott Hardkiss, Gavin and Robbie Hardkiss partnered with Scott’s wife Stephanie, to relaunch the Hardkiss Music label with the release of a new album last year: Hardkiss – 1991 which was described by Magnetic Magazine as “a throwback to that heady time as well as a timely loop into the future.” Reunited in the Bay Area four years ago, Gavin and Robbie produced this album that stands tall in the often repetitive world of electronic dance music. Named for the year the Hardkiss collective was formed, 1991 references the sounds and sentiments of their early rave days while exploring new musical directions.

ODESZA “Bloom” (Lane 8 Remix)
Now Available Worldwide via Anjunadeep
Seattle-based ODESZA have set the dance scene alight over the past 12 months with their second album ‘In Return.’ The LP received widespread critical acclaim and global support, racking up no fewer than 10 Hype Machine #1’s. Add to this their impressive touring schedule, including an appearance at Coachella, and it’s clear that the duo are something of a phenomenon.
One such fan of the band, Anjunadeep’s own rising star Lane 8, aka Daniel Goldstein, reached out and asked to remix his favorite track off the album, “Bloom.” ODESZA and their label Ninja Tune obliged and the result is a rolling house anthem, harnessing the potent atmosphere and pop-infused hooks of the downtempo original, bringing it effortlessly to the dancefloor.
“Lane 8 is an outstanding producer who we’ve been a fan of for quite some time. It was an honor to have him hit us up to remix Bloom. He took the track in a direction we never thought of, creating a driving house vibe that really compliments the song in a new way.” -ODESZA
The remix was just recently premiered by Fader
, who warmly received the tune. They acclaimed, “Germany-via-San Francisco producer Lane 8 has properly turned this tune out, straightening its woozy lines into a huge house banger that will absolutely rattle your skull.”

After a massive 2014, Chris Lake is back to his roots with the powerful house track ‘Chest’, out on the 6th of February via Ultra Music.
Chris Lake’s newest release is a true house tune that keeps you on your toes and leads you to the dancefloor. With a smattering of chopped, warped vocal samples and a clean and pumping bass, ‘Chest’ is an uncomplicated, stripped back track focussed purely on the energy and the beat.
Last year the Scottish Producer and DJ released ‘Delirious (Boneless)’ feat. Kid Ink with Steve Aoki & Tujamo, a club banger that’s amassed close to 8 million SoundCloud streams, and now Chris Lake back with another contagious dance track – but this time to focus on a pure and authentic house vibe.
Known for his modern house infused with funked-out grooves, London-born and LA-based Lake was signed to Ultra Music in 2012 after perfecting his signature sound through a series of well-received releases and two Essential Mixes. His early tracks – including ‘Changes’, an offering that made the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay – received a lot of love, and helped him break into the North American scene early into his career.
Last year saw Chris Lake playing to packed crowds across the globe, including Sun City Music Festival in the States, Pacha, Ibiza and e-Lake festival in Luxembourg. He’s hit the ground running in 2015 with a January US tour ahead of ‘Chest’ release on the 6th of February.
